We sell handmade textiles from Peru, mostly Shipibo and Q’ero tribes.
Buying these items directly from the Q’ero is a time consuming effort but we know that the funds goes directly to the Q’ero community and families.
These are hand made so please consider the machine made items that are made in great quantities.

Shipibo

Each piece in this collection is a testament to the unparalleled craftsmanship and spiritual depth of the Shipibo people, an Indigenous group from the Peruvian Amazon. These textiles are not just fabric; they are woven narratives, meticulously crafted by hand, carrying the essence of centuries-old traditions and the sacred knowledge of the Amazonian shamans.

Our Shipibo-Conibo textiles are distinguished by their intricate geometric patterns, which are more than mere designs. They are visual representations of the Shipibo cosmology, depicting the interconnectedness of life, the vibrational essence of the natural world, and the spiritual journeys induced by ayahuasca ceremonies. The creation of each textile is a meditative process, infused with intentions and prayers, making them powerful spiritual talismans as well as stunning pieces of art.

Utilizing natural dyes extracted from the flora of the Amazon, these textiles are a vibrant celebration of the rich biodiversity of the rainforest. The colors are vivid and alive, echoing the lush landscapes and the spiritual visions they inspire. This collection offers a unique opportunity to bring the magic and mystery of the Amazon into your home, connecting you to the ancient wisdom and the enduring spirit of the Shipibo people.

Q’ero

The Q’ero tribe, nestled in the Peruvian Andes, is renowned for its vibrant and intricate textiles, which are much more than mere fabrics. These textiles are a canvas where the Q’ero weavers, drawing from centuries-old traditions, intertwine the spiritual, cultural, and natural worlds into a harmonious tapestry of colors and patterns.

Each piece of textile is handwoven with care, utilizing techniques passed down through generations. The Q’ero artisans use natural fibers from alpacas and llamas, which are native to the Andes, ensuring that each textile is not only sustainable but also deeply connected to the land. The dyes themselves are derived from local plants, minerals, and insects, giving rise to a palette of colors that reflect the vibrant landscapes and rich biodiversity of the Andes.

The designs found in Q’ero textiles are symbolic and tell stories of the Andean cosmology, featuring motifs that represent mountains (apus), rivers, animals, and celestial bodies, all of which play pivotal roles in the Q’ero worldview. These patterns are not merely decorative but serve as a language, expressing community values, historical narratives, and spiritual beliefs.

Q’ero textiles are used in a variety of forms, from clothing and accessories to ceremonial items and household goods, each serving as a daily reminder of the Q’ero’s deep connection to Pachamama (Mother Earth) and the sacred. Wearing or using these textiles is believed to provide protection, health, and well-being, as they are imbued with the blessings and prayers of the weavers.

For collectors and admirers, owning a Q’ero textile means holding a piece of Andean soul — an artifact that bridges the physical and spiritual worlds, crafted with intentions of harmony and balance. These textiles not only adorn but also tell the tale of a people deeply entwined with their environment, preserving their rich heritage and offering a vibrant thread to the tapestry of global cultures.
